Rovers U18s recorded victory over French side ACBB Paris in the second game of the 2013 Gothia Cup.
The game ended 1-0 to Paul Stancliffe’s side after Ryan Burnyeat scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
Rovers were awarded the penalty when Billy Whitehouse was brought down in the area; Burnyeat stepped up to take the spot kick earning his side all three points.
Jack McKay almost doubled the lead when he rounded the Paris keeper however the opposition defence were alive to the danger and managed to block his goal bound effort.
Paul Wilson, Head of Youth said: “The lads did brilliantly again today. We are really pleased with how they are doing; they had to really dig in during the final ten minutes of the game to secure the points.
“They’re all getting their head’s down and are working really hard for each other which is pleasing to see.”
The team will now play Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna tomorrow in the final group game of the competition.
