Paul Dickov this afternoon confirmed that he had been working hard on trying to secure some of the targets that his is looking to bring in with only a few weeks left before the start of the season.
Dickov confirmed that he was looking to bring in players in various positions including strikers and a couple of goalkeepers to further compliment the set of players he already has at his disposal.
“My phone has been stuck to my ear for the best part of the day. I’ve been working tirelessly on securing the players who are already here and also trying to bring in the faces I feel we need to compliment the squad we already have here.
“I had hoped to have some of my targets in place before leaving for the training camp but as always in football, nothing goes to plan - contracts are very complicated these days.
“I know fans have read about players from other clubs and although we have four players who we have agreed deals in principal with they have not signed as of yet and for that reason I don’t like to discuss them.
“I have identified a list of targets that I would like to bring here and have discussed them with the owners. I have to work within a budget, so discussion go backwards and forwards, which take time but I feel I am getting there. It takes patience and big phone bill but hopefully I will secure some of these players over the next week or so.”
