Dickov Looks Ahead To Motherwell

10 July 2013

Rovers return to action at Keepmoat Stadium this Saturday when Scottish Premier League side Motherwell travel south of the border to face Paul Dickov’s men.

The pre-season schedule, so far, has seen three victories for Rovers against local non-league sides, and Dickov is now aiming to use the game against Motherwell to assess his players’ fitness levels.

“It will be a big test for us, a lot bigger test than the three games we have already played, but it will also let me know where the boys are fitness wise, and quality wise as well.”

Motherwell finished runners up to Celtic in the SPL last season and Stuart McCall’s team are using the friendly game as a warm up to their Europa League qualification campaign.

“They have done fantastically well with Stuart McCall in the last couple of seasons. Stuart  knows how I like to set my teams up and how I like to play, and he felt that coming down to us was the perfect game for them.

“They are a little bit ahead in their pre-season preparations because they have got their Europa League qualifiers coming up. So from that point of view, it will give me a good idea of where we are at the minute.”

Tickets for the game are on general sale and are available to purchase from the stadium ticket office, via the ticket hotline on 01302 762576 or online
