Rovers Under-18s have drawn their final Gothia Cup group game with IF Brommapojkarna.

Rovers had chances to win the game against the group winners with the first coming when Billy Whitehouse headed wide from Lewis Ferguson’s cross.

Ben Adkins then headed over a corner before Ferguson himself got in on the act as he shot just wide when well placed.

The biggest chance of the game fell to Jack McKay who broke clear but the Brommapojkarna ‘keeper saved well before Rovers had a penalty appeal waved away by the referee after McKay was brought down in the box.

Chances continued to come for Paul Wilson’s side as Jack Steadman shot just over from the edge of the box but the Rovers boss was pleased despite the lack of goals.

Head of Youth Paul Wilson said after the game: “We drew 0-0 but we did really well.

“It was another good, disciplined performance from the boys which pleased us”

Rovers go through to the next round as the best third placed team to face AIK FF of Sweden.
