Rovers have always tried in recent years to play against local sides to open the pre-season as part of the commitment to being part of the community.

In line with this, Paul Dickov, has arranged two friendlies against local non-league opposition to open up the pre season programme. Rovers will face Retford United and Rossington Main, who are both in areas that have a large Rovers following and will be well attended as in the past. These will be the first chance for fans to watch the new faces that Paul Dickov will be bringing to the club ahead of the season.

Rovers first team will visit Baris NCEL Premier side Retford United’s Cannon Park on Saturday 6th July KO 3pm. Sean O’Driscoll last took his side to face the Badgers in 2007 when a record crowd for Retford turned out at Cannon Park.

Following on from the visit to Retford, Rovers full squad will travel the short journey up the road to Rossington on Tuesday 9th KO 7.30 at their Oxford Road ground. The Baris Northern Counties East League - Division One side last faced Rovers in 2008 on a very wet night, when Sean O’Driscoll took his newly promoted Championship side to Oxford Road in their first game after Wembley.

Price to be announced later.
