Flynn: We Need A Response

30 March 2013

Manager Brian Flynn spoke to Rovers Player ahead of Monday’s top of the table clash against Swindon Town.

Swindon have been in and amongst the chasing pack vying for an automatic promotion place all season and Brian Flynn is aware of the task that awaits his team in Monday’s televised game.

“They play in a similar way now as to what the did under Paulo Di Canio, but I know Kevin McDonald really well and I know he will have his influence on the team as well.

“They’ve got some talented players and have had a good season so far," said Flynn

“They’ve been near the top of the table which proves that they can handle the situation that they are in. We are wounded from Saturday and we need a response and generally the response from the team has been very good following a defeat.

“You look back at what went on last Friday and reflect, on the positives as well as the negatives, in the correct manner.”

When asked whether three points was the aim against Town, Brian’s response was forthright.

“We need to claim three points from every game and then nobody can touch us, that’s our aim.

“Our aim was also to win at Coventry but it didn’t happen, our aim now is to finish the job off properly – we will do our upmost to put on a performance and get the results for the supporters.

“With ten games to go we had a plan, and the plan is working so far because we are top of the league. We’ve got some good players in that dressing room who can perform on a big stage, creating chances and defend to, all these characteristic make me confident.”
