The Doncaster Rovers Foundation is inviting budding young football to the Keepmoat Stadium to take part in a football tournament ahead of the FA Women’s Cup Final on Sunday 26 May.
The Foundation is hosting 5-a-side and 7-a-side tournaments for boys aged under 11 and under 12 and girls aged under 12, 13, 14 and 15.
The tournaments will kick off at 11.30am on Sunday 26 May on the astro-turf pitches at the Stadium and will form part of a fun filled action packed day out. Activities taking place at the Stadium on the day to celebrate the FA Women’s Cup Final, include a football festival, inflatable football pitch, target shoots, speed cage, face painters, fun, games music and more.
Entry into the tournament is open to all football clubs, schools and other groups and costs £50 per team and includes 12 match tickets to the game. Discounted additional tickets are available for accompanying family and friends but must be purchased upon registration.
Liam Scully Chief Executive of the Doncaster Rovers Foundation said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the pre-match football tournaments.
“The tournament is a great chance for local children to get involved and show their skills and talent.
“To have the Women’s FA Cup final here at the Keepmoat is fantastic and we are hoping that it will generate an increase in popularity of women’s football locally.
“We are hoping that as many football fans as possible will come down and join us and watch the game and show their support for the ladies.”
