Free Fanzone Coming To Keepmoat Ahead of The FA Women’s Cup Final

23rd May 2013: Football fans are being urged to come down to the Keepmoat Stadium to be part of an exciting bank holiday afternoon of women’s football when the prestigious FA Women’s Cup Final comes to Doncaster this Sunday 26th May (KO 3pm).

In just a few days time, Arsenal Ladies will take on Bristol Academy in the showpiece of the 2013 women’s football season, to be broadcast live on BBC Two. The match is set up to be an exciting and entertaining encounter as both teams fight it out to win the historic piece of silverware.

Prior to seeing the two teams in action, fans are invited to take part in a FREE, interactive fanzone, brought to you by Continental Tyres. Games include batak boards, a speed cage, a target shoot inflatable plus a new trailer that houses the FA WSL and Cyprus Cup trophies and digital stations. To add to the festival atmosphere, there will be hair braiding and face painting, all of which will take place outside the stadium from 1pm.  Fans can also meet their FA WSL heroes as members of the famous resident team Doncaster Rovers Belles will be in attendance to meet and greet the youngsters. There will also be a Female Referee Ambassador present, Sasa Ihringova, to deliver practical mini whistler activities.

Doncaster Rovers Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin said: “We are delighted to be hosting this prestigious match and can guarantee an afternoon of top class women’s football as well as entertainment.  We are confident that such a prestigious fixture will attract a good crowd, plus with both a free interactive fanzone and a football tournament taking place, it will hopefully inspire as many people as possible to come to the game.”

Laura Hardy, sponsorship manager at Continental Tyres, said: “With two of the best FA WSL teams taking part along with an afternoon of fun and activity, this is set to be a great family occasion.
