Doncaster Rovers have been chosen to deliver a best practice presentation for supporter consultation and fan engagement at the ‘Family Excellence Awards and Best Practice Seminar’.
Rovers’ Head of Marketing Shaun Lockwood will deliver the presentation at the event, which will be held at Birmingham City Football Club’s St Andrews Stadium, on Wednesday evening.
Doncaster Rovers were chosen, for the presentation, as an example to others of how fan engagement and supporter consultation can benefit a football club.
The ‘In Rovers We Trust’ fan engagement project is one that is that has much success over the past season and as a result was featured in FC Business magazine.
In an extensive article on the project, the football business magazine highlighted the work that had been carried out to bring the club back to the fans.
Rovers’ Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin summarised the project to the magazine: “It’s about working in partnership with your supporters. Don’t make assumptions. Find out what the club means to them. Talk to them about what matters in their relationship with the club, and most importantly, work openly and honestly with them and come up with the necessary improvements”.
