21 May 2013

Doncaster Rovers recently announced the return of the Rovers Alliance ‘From the Locker Room’ prize draw.

‘From the locker room’ gives Alliance members the chance to win a piece of Doncaster Rovers history, pairing members with signed memorabilia from the Doncaster Rovers squad.

The first prize up for grabs was a pair of James Coppinger’s signed match boots which have been worn by the Rovers midfielder this season.  Doncaster Rovers are pleased to announce that Alliance member Jim Ryan is the lucky winner of this fantastic prize.

As one of the longest standing players at Doncaster Rovers, Coppinger has featured in many of Rovers successes, including the Jonestone’s Paint Trophy Final win in 2007 and the 2008 league 1 play off final at Wembley Stadium which resulted in promotion the Championship after beating Leeds United.

Upon receiving his prize a delighted Jim Ryan said: “It’s a really nice souvenir from one of my favourite players and longest serving Doncaster Rovers players. His goal at Brentford will surely be remembered for years to come. To be able to say that I have a pair of his boots from that memorable season is just amazing”

Jim, who has won prizes before courtesy of the Rovers Alliance also spoke about the fact that members of the scheme are now seeing reward for their efforts on the pitch; “James Husband, who progressed through the youth team, is an outstanding player and It has been fantastic to see the results of my support, through the Rovers Alliance, materialise into producing first team players”

The boots are just one of many fantastic pieces of signed Rovers memorabilia up for grabs through the Rovers Alliance in the coming weeks; including Captain Rob Jones and Billy Paynter’s training sweat tops and Tommy Spurr’s signed football boots. Not forgetting a training shirt from James Husband and goal keeper gloves from Jonathan Maxted, both former youth team players and products of the Rovers Alliance themselves.
