McCullough spoke exclusively to Rovers Player ahead of Rovers trip to Charlton on Tuesday night.
Luke spoke about Friday nights win saying; “It was a great 3 points last Friday which gave a bit of breathing space between us the bottom teams. This will give us a bit of confidence ahead of the game at Charlton. A win against any Championship side gives you confidence no matter where in the table they are.
“I got in the side when Rob (Jones) got injured and feel more confidant every game I play. I’m looking to get better with every game and work hard for the team however long I can keep my place. I trained hard and when the chance came I was ready, so the gaffer gave me the chance because he thought I was ready.”
Luke was one of the players who represented his country last week during the international break.
Luke was made captain of the U21 side as he explains;“I got to play for my country last week which is always a proud moment especially has I got to captain them too. If you get the chance to wear the captain’s armband you have to be a leader especially as a centre back by talking and encouraging the other lads. I loved every minute of the game plus I did not get injured.
“We know we can go down to Charlton and get a result but also know we have to put that rained off game behind us. It would have been nice to get three points but that’s in the past now. The plan remains the same to go down there for a win despite new personnel in the side but we have a squad that can get the points”.
