Paul spoke to Rovers Player after the two-nil defeat to Charlton at the Valley.
"We were poor from start to finish tonight! Charlton seemed to have an extra half a yard they seemed to want it a little bit more and had that little bit of extra quality than us. I'm disappointed because I know we are much better than that.
"I thought Marc did ok, we took him off because it was his first game back, we wanted to get a few more forwards on the pitch to try and get a goal back, but I feel he did reasonably well.
"Every single player has something to prove, they can't expect to go out and switch it on and switch it off. I've just said to them in the changing room, if they go out and have a good go, I will back them but there was too many who didn't do that tonight."
