Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers Player this week and reflected on the draw at Barnsley at the weekend.
Paul said; “The clean sheet last week against Barnsley was the most positive thing about the game. It was important that we got back to basics and defended properly. Often when I speak after a game I think one thing but often after watching the game over and over I often change my mind about how we played.
"I felt we defended well and had a desire not to concede but I was still disappointed how we played when we had the ball. To play in a local derby and not have any shots on target is not what I wanted. I want my teams to be more attacking as well as defensive but it was important we got back to getting a result as well."
Luke McCullough made only his second start for Rovers at Barnsley, Dickov commented on his performance; "One of the bright spots of the game was the performance of young Luke McCullough, who I felt played fantastic as I also thought he did against Brighton. For a young kid to come in at Championship, which is a tough league, is a credit to the lad.
"I knew he was good lad when we signed him with lots of potential. He’s been thrown in a lot earlier than we would have liked but he’s dealt with it well with lots of confidence in his play."
