PD: To Bring A Player In Takes Time

21 November 2013

Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers Player this morning about the possibility of players coming in.

Paul said; "We are actively trying to bring some more bodies in ahead of the game on Friday but the type of players we want to bring in are the sort clubs don’t want to let out.

"I am asking the questions and have been on the phone quite a lot over the past few days. It’s complicated as there are lots of parts to a loan move such as finance, the player, the club and agents etc. too manoeuvre through to bring a player in, all of which takes time.”

He added; “There are lots of rumours out there when the media know you are looking at players and often I have not even spoken to them but that is the nature of the game.

"We are also always looking at players and brining them in on trial. We have former West Brom and Bolton Premier League player Abdoulaye Méïté, who has been with us for a couple of weeks training at Cantley Park.

"With the way the international transfer window is it is hard to sign players outside it such as him. He has been keeping fit and has just come back from playing in Finland. We are having a good look at him, as he is very experienced both in England and at international level with Ivory Coast.

"We hope to keep him here longer so he can have a good look at us and us at him before we do business. We have not got as far as talking contracts with him yet”
