Rovers Roadshow Rolls Into Bawtry

18 November 2013

The Rovers Roadshow landed at Bawtry Mayflower Junior School on Monday afternoon with Rovers players James Coppinger, David Cotterill and Ross Turnbull.

The theme of the event was bullying and respect as part of the school's anti bullying week presented by the Rovers Foundation team.

The three lads visited each class and took questions about how the lads respect each other and work together as a team even though they live different lives away from the club. The overriding message to children is that you should respect everyone whatever their beliefs, nationality or team.

James Coppinger "It is important that as role models we give the right messages out to everyone especially at schools. This is why we love to visit schools as we have the last two weeks to make sure we make a positive impact on the local community especially in regards to respect and anti bullying.

"We got asked some very good questions that were straight to the point and showed that the pupils understand the concepts their teachers are putting to them which bodes well for the future."
