Away Supporters To Have Great Away Days

29 October 2013

Doncaster Rovers have launched a number of initiatives to make the Keepmoat Stadium the number one destination for away supporters.

The club have introduced an away fan guide as well as a Twitter account for away fans. The away fan guide offers help and advice on how to get to the stadium, places to eat and drink, where to stay and information on Doncaster in general. This is available online and has been emailed to every club in the Championship.

A popular initiative which has already proven very successful, is where at every home match, an away supporting family is chosen at random to sit in the away team dug out for the pre-match warm up, and where possible meet the away team manger.

For the club's upcoming fixture against Brighton, Doncaster Rovers are offering a gift to junior supporters who have travelled from Brighton. The first 100 away junior supporters to enter the ground will be given a free souvenir which has been purchased from Brighton and Hove Albion club shop.

Gavin Baldwin, Chief Executive of Doncaster Rovers FC said: "Our priority will of course always be our loyal Rovers supporters, but we have been working hard to ensure that away supporters enjoy supporting their team at Keepmoat Stadium and make a return visit season after season.

"We are a family friendly club and we want to actively encourage as many fans as possible, both home and away, to come to Keepmoat Stadium.

"We have a great reputation within the Football League for being a family friendly club and very welcoming of away supporters, and our new initiatives reinforce this.

"The more supporters we can attract to Doncaster Rovers games, the better the atmosphere inside the stadium.

"We all know how expensive it can be to support your team at away matches, so by introducing this new scheme and offers, we aim to encourage more away fans to make the trip to the Keepmoat.

"I hope away fans respond well to our new initiatives and we look forward to welcoming more of them to Keepmoat Stadium throughout the season."
