Brown: Enjoying My Football

4 October 2013

Rovers Player caught up with striker Chris Brown, ahead of the game against Leicester City, and he said the he is enjoying his football and praised the way the team has been playing.

How do you view the performances so far?

“We have had mixed emotions really; going away from home and playing well. At Watford we were excellent for the majority of the game with the team being organised and dealing with everything they threw at us but got beat with a bad decision, which seems to be the theme so far this season. We have to look at the positive that we have played well against some good sides and players”

Sometimes in this league it’s about getting three points not the performance.

Saturday at Sheffield was a good example of this, as we did not play as well as we have but still got three points. You get confidence from that, which in turn improves your performances. It’s a case of being steady at the back and organised throughout the team to make sure that you don’t concede. Kiko got the winner last week after we defended well and we will take more games like that.”

There is a lot of positive coming out of games.

No one has really torn us apart yet with Burnley probably being the best team we have played. They were very organised and everyone knew where they had to be, with a good game plan they stuck to.”

On a personal level how do you feel you have done?

I’m enjoying my football, being in the team and scoring but I would like to get a few more goals. For me it is a case of staying fit and working as hard as I can for the team.

It’s a big game tomorrow against Leicester.

Leicester like Burnley will be well organised with the front two working very hard to cause problems for defences. I am expecting a tough game as they are strong at the back but I feel with the players we have, if we play like we can we will be very competitive.

As with Burnley we know what to expect as all the top ten sides have the same credentials of being big, strong and hard working.

We have to match that for all the game but we have a lot of quality in the team who can compete on the same level as these teams.

Its going to be a good crowd so that will make it special and its on TV as main game on Football League show, so it will be a good occasion and we are ready to rise to it.
