Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers Player and looks forward to the game at Middlesbrough and also talks about the events at the Teeside club this week.

“We travel to Middlesbrough on Friday and to be honest I am little bit surprised that they have not done better. I feel for Tony because he Middlesbrough through and through but we can’t look at it from our side. They have good players, which makes their position surprising but we will be concentrating on us because if you take your eye of what we are doing here, you leave yourself open”

Is it a good time to face a club who have just lost their manager? 

"Probably not because what is always frustrating for all managers is that a team often wins the game when you have left. You often get a reaction from the players and with being at home they will try to stamp their authority on the match early doors. It's in front of their own fans and on TV as well, so will start very strongly. The second half against Barnsley they came back strong, so we have to be aware of them as they have good attacking players.

“Managing a football club is a tough job and you always know that you live on a knife edge but I’m loving it here. I’m lucky I’m at a club that is reasonable stable that let me get on with my job, with a great relationship with the chairman, Chief Executive and all the board with mutual respect the is the best way to take the club forward.

“We are missing Richie (Wellens) tomorrow night with his suspension after his booking at Reading. We are close to bringing in a player for the game but I will announce who when it is done and dusted. We will miss Richie but Keegan and Furman they formed a good partnership against Leicester, which we won, so I have no worries there. It will be all about how we approach the game and although I always say respect the opposition and do our homework, if we play right we have a good chance of getting a result."
