Horton: Bring It On

Brian Horton talks about getting ready for the game against Reading

“We are once again facing a top ten side in the league and I say ‘bring it on’. This is a great division to play in because the prize is a place in the Premier League, which has to be the ultimate target. You get to play sides such as Forest, Leicester and next week we travel to Reading, which should make the players want to be there and if they don’t enjoy playing these sides week in week out they should not be at Rovers. I know they relish facing the top sides and enhancing their reputations. They have a good reputation now with some great performances and the form against these sides is fantastic. To be fair we have faced most of the top ten sides in this division to start the season.

"We are also working hard behind the scenes to look at how Reading play. We have had them watched three times recently. For us football never stops and we will be out over the weekend watching games. In this game you are constantly watching teams and players plus we have scouts out there watching our next opponents, so that we can plan ahead to give our players the best chance to compete. I will not be off this weekend, I will be out there watching players and teams as we look at our squad. I love going to watch other teams and see how they play and if we can see players at lower levels who could step up. When you are out of work, which happens to all managers you go to games still but there is no end product but when like this weekend I go out I know we have a purpose as I’m looking at specific players, who we may want to recruit.”
