PD: I'm Proud Of The Players

Rovers manager Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers Player after his side's 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the Keepmoat Stadium.

“I’m absolutely delighted and proud of the players, the effort they put in the way we tried to play it at times against a top team is really pleasing.

“We knew they are a good team if they want to get the ball down and play it they are very good at it, so we were ready for that.

“We defended really well. We pride ourselves on out togetherness not just as a team but as a whole club and I’ve think we’ve seen that today.

“We wanted to defend from the front and defend on the front foot because what that does it lets the midfield and our centre halfs get higher up the pitch.

“Last couple of games especially the other night we defended a little bit too deep which brought pressure onto us and that is why we went with Theo [Robinson] Browny [Chris Brown] and Duffer [Mark Duffy] because we wanted to put them on back foot, defend from the front but when we won the ball back we had the players to cause them problems.”
