Paul Dickov explains to the Official Website what he has planned for the International Break.
“We plan well in advance for these weeks as we did the last international break. Mentally more then ever you have to get the players refreshed and get some hard work done. So on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday especially this week they will be doing double sessions which will be like a mini pre-season because we have another hard period coming up before the next international break and we have to be prepared.
“After this next hard period we get one more international break before we have the run up to Christmas. Getting the lads focused is the key word because we have no game at the end of the week. I have been with players and some managers who write this week off a little bit but we think that the way we want to do things here we can take advantage of it. We can top up their fitness but this two weeks allows us to get other stuff into our work with them. We can do the technical, physical and tactical stuff you find hard to do when games are coming Saturday Tuesday every week”
