Turnbull: We've Had Tough Games

11 October 2013

Rovers official website met up with keeper Ross Turnbull during international break.

Are you happy with this month after winning the Facebook Player of the Month?

"Of course, it’s always good to be recognised by the fans for my performances. It’s all down to hard work on the training ground and then being taken across to the match day."

A mixed bag of results during the month but good performances from you?

"It’s been a bit disappointing that we did not pick up the points we deserved, sometimes from events out of our control. At Watford it was a last minute penalty which should have only been a free kick outside the box which denied us a hard worked point but we bounced back against Forest to draw then got all three points in the ‘derby’ game at Hillsborough. So it’s onwards and upwards now to continue climbing the table."

We had the luck on Saturday but you must have had little bit of sympathy for your opposite number?

"I did have a little bit of sympathy for about a couple of seconds. It easily happens and Kasper is one of the best keepers in this league but it just shows the best make mistakes. If a keeper makes a bad judgment call or mistake, it can be game turning as it was last Saturday. It’s a part of the game you have to get used to and he wont be the last it will happen to."

Is it frustrating after the win that we don’t have a game this weekend?

"It is frustrating but also in some ways a welcome break but it would have been nice to trying and get two wins on the bounce. We have had a tough couple of games, so this break should help us get refreshed."
