PD: Positive Frame OF Mind

27 September 2013

Rovers Official Website caught up with Paul Dickov after training, as preparations for our Yorkshire ‘derby’ against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough continued.

Paul revealed that he is expecting a different sort of game than the Forest game, however the approach will be the same.

“It will be a different proposition to Forest,” he said,

“We are away and it’s a derby game but we will be going there get three points.

“We believe if we do the right things and work well when we have not got the ball we will start picking up the points.

“They are a side that have yet to get three points but they will soon and we have to make sure it’s not against us.

“I’m not buying into them being a a poor team or that the manager is under pressure! They are a good team with a fantastic manager and Dave (Jones) will have them right up for it with being a derby.

“We know we are going to have to be competitive on Saturday and our defence will have to be sound. We do go there, though, full of confidence after two good performances against Watford and Forest. It’s a fantastic arena to play in with a big noisy crowd and it’s our job to silence them by taking the points.

“We have done our homework on them this week and want to go there and express ourselves. We know we will have to work so hard off the ball, probably harder than many of the other games.

“We are going with a positive frame of mind and will be going all out to play good football.

“We will have a lot of our fans there, and they have been fantastic this season and they will be up for this game against a local rival. What you have to do is not get caught up in the atmosphere, which is hard, but you want your fans to go home with the bragging rights.”
