Keepmoat Stadium set to go green!

Doncaster Rovers FC are leading the way with their green credentials by installing solar panels at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Rovers are the first football league club in the country to install the solar panels, which will be able to generate electricity all year round.

The electricity generated by the panels will be used to run lighting and various appliances at the stadium.

Gavin Baldwin, Chief Executive of Doncaster Rovers, said:  “We have a number of green initiatives at the Stadium in order to reduce our carbon footprint and we are delighted to be moving into the renewable energy market.

“The solar panels are not only beneficial to the environment, they will help to reduce our energy bills, which is fantastic.

“To be the first football league club in the country to install solar panels is a fantastic accolade for Doncaster Rovers and indicates how innovative the club is and once again shows that we are leading the way.

“We are just about to celebrate our first year of managing the Keepmoat Stadium and this latest green initiative shows how far we have come and the differences we have made.”
