Doncaster Rovers Official Website had a visit from long time season ticket holder and member of the Life Church in Edenthorpe, William Jackson.

William spent time to explain a special visit made to the Ukraine by his church, after a chance encounter with two fans at the Bradford City friendly.

They explained to him that they had a variety of Rovers shirts that they wanted to donate to charity.

After William explained their project the pair agreed to give the shirts to him. The shirts cover the last 15 years of Rovers history and are now being worn all over the Ukraine.

The project was for a team of 5 young people from the Life Church in Edenthorpe to go out to Ukraine in order to connect with a church whilst teaching, playing educational games with the teenagers, playing football with them and getting people connected to the church.

William Jackson “The 5 connected with a church in Pyateechatky, Ukraine. A town of approximately 22000 people, where there are also a couple of thousand gypsies living.

“We gave the shirts out 1 every day to someone as a prize. They had to enter competitions or win a game in order to win the shirts. Everyone who received a shirt was extremely grateful and excited about getting an English club shirt!

“If you would like to know more about our Church and what we are involved in please visit "
