Boss Up For Monthly Award

3 April 2014

Good form leads to gong nomination

Doncaster Rovers are pleased to announce that manager Paul Dickov has been nominated for the Skybet Championship ‘Manager of the Month’ award for March.

Dickov presided over four wins, one draw and two defeats as his side recorded 13 points from a possible 21 to steer themselves clear of relegation trouble.

While Rovers are not yet mathematically safe, a trio of Yorkshire derby victories – over Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United – have eased any fears of falling through the Championship ‘trap door’.

“It’s a great honour to be nominated for the award,” said the Dickov.

“We’ve had a great run of late and it’s the players who must take the credit, but we know we’re not safe yet.”

Rovers sit in 18th position – their highest league position since October 2013 – eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Other nominees for the award are Leicester City’s Nigel Pearson, who sit top of the table, and Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche of AFC Bournemouth and Burnley respectively, who were both responsible for the defeats of Doncaster the previous month.

Rovers ‘March’ on:
Played: 7

*Rovers haul of 13 points from the month of March surpassed their best monthly points totals of November 2013 and January 2014 (both 7 points).
