Husband Hopeful Ahead of Home Clash

25 April 2014

Rovers Player spoke to young defender prior to 'Royal Rumble' on Saturday.

James Husband was in a relaxed mood ahead of the weekend’s huge fixture against Reading at the Keepmoat Stadium (3pm).

The full back was substituted a fortnight ago in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road with a hamstring injury which isn’t as bad as first feared.

“I’m getting all sorts of stick back from the lads because I’ve had the results back and it’s not as bad as we first thought and they’re telling me a wimp etc,” said the 20 year old.

“It’s alright actually, I’ve gone a bit further this week and done a lot more running, and we’ll have to see how it is over the next few days but I’m not sure how it will be.”

Husband, who has one goal in 29 appearances this term, was reflective about the setback, “It’s hard to take at the start, but it’s one of those things, it’s going to happen, people are going to get injured and unfortunately it was me.”

“Enda [Stevens] has come in and done well, so from a team view you can’t really complain. You just want to get over the finish line and hopefully we’ll do that on Saturday.

“We’ll look at the results after the game, but it’s in our hands still, we can’t worry about other people, we just need to focus on three points on Saturday.”
