Evina Keen to Impress

5 August 2014

"It's a family club," says new boy Cedric.

Former Arsenal trainee Cedric Evina said he was focused on repeating his promotion from League One in 2012 with Charlton Athletic.

Full back Evina put pen to paper on a two year deal recently and spoke glowingly about signing for the Club.

“I’ve played against Doncaster last year and, while I’ve been here in Yorkshire, I’ve found out that it’s a family club and there’s a lot of people in the community who are fans and you walk around and you see kids with Doncaster Rovers tops on and it’s a club that I’m really excited to join,” he said.

“I’ve experienced promotion from League 1 which is something I hope we can do with Doncaster.”

Evina, who won the FA Premier Youth League with Arsenal back in 2010 gained experience at Oldham Athletic while the Latics were managed by none other than Paul Dickov.

“I know a lot about the gaffer, he had me at Oldham a couple of years ago when I was starting my professional career and I was really excited when he gave me the call to come and join him up here,” said Evina.

“Its going to be a long, hard season but we’ve got a good group of lads and might add a couple more but it’s a good vibe and we’ve got good quality.”
