Young midfielder says he is ready for action if and when needed.
Harry Middleton has revealed that he feels he can offer Paul Dickov something different in the middle of the park, should he be given the chance by his manager. The youth team graduate recently signed a one year contract extension and said he was ready for the new season.
“We’ve all got to impress, work hard and see if he’s willing to play us like he said he is and hopefully we can show him what we can do, get out there and do well this year,” Middleton said of Dickov.
“He said last year that he wanted to keep me here for another year and then we’ve just had to wait for what his budget was going to be and we had to see what he could offer.”
The skilful midfielder made his Rovers debut in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game against Crewe Alexandra in December 2012 and now, aged 19, says he wants a repeat of first team action.
“That was the best thing, as an experience it was amazing and I’d love to do that every week,” he said.
“If I could every now and then then I’d be happy, I’m going to try and make the manager pick me.”
