Stage 1 Complete

8 August 2014

Rovers' history project beginning to take shape.

Club Doncaster Foundation are delighted to confirm that stage one of the “Walk in Museum” at the Keepmoat Stadium - funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund - has now been completed.

Following a successful funding bid in 2013, the Foundation arm of Club Doncaster (formerly known as Doncaster Rovers Foundation) was given funding to create a timeline inside the concourses of Keepmoat Stadium, tracking the history of the club.

Stage 1 of the project is now complete with a timeline that spans from 1879 to the present day visible inside the concourses of the ‘Polypipe’, ‘My Club Betting’ and ‘Donasonic / SMT Xtra stands’.

Liam Scully, Chief Executive of the Foundation said, “We’re delighted to announce stage 1 of the project has been completed.  Each concourse has a unique time-period attached to it which details significant events in the history of Doncaster Rovers.

“Our next step is to use the information that has been provided by supporters, former players and officials to create an educational resource that will allow school visits to the stadium.”

Gavin Baldwin Chief Executive of Doncaster Rovers said, “Whilst this is only stage 1, we are pleased with the results and are hopeful that fans will enjoy reliving some of the key moments in the history of Doncaster Rovers.  This is a unique project to Doncaster Rovers and one that we are very proud of.”
