Club Doncaster and Weldricks Pharmacy Form Community Healthcare Partnership

1 December 2014

Local, independent, family owned Weldricks Pharmacy has strengthened its commitment to community healthcare.

Local, independent, family owned Weldricks Pharmacy has strengthened its commitment to community healthcare after teaming up with the Club Doncaster Foundation to assist with the
charitable work being carried out in the area.

The three year partnership has been set up with the intention of raising awareness around key health issues identified by the Club Doncaster Foundation.

Since 1987, the Foundation has been working to help communities in need in Doncaster, and chief executive Liam Scully said that this partnership will come as a real boost.

He said: “We work throughout the area to make life-changing interventions for those people who need it most.

“To have the support of community focused businesses means a lot to us and we count ourselves very fortunate to be working in this area.

“Weldricks Pharmacy is without doubt one of the most well known and respected business names in Doncaster healthcare and we are looking forward to working with them on our upcoming projects.”

The Club Doncaster Foundation recently worked with the NHS Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group to raise awareness of the early symptoms of bowel cancer.

With another worthwhile campaign aimed at helping people quit smoking planned for the New Year, the support of Weldricks Pharmacy will be of great benefit to the charity.

Chris Alcock, managing director of Weldricks Pharmacy, said: “We have been acutely aware of the progress made by the Club Doncaster Foundation and the difference they are making in our local area.

“Weldricks Pharmacy is committed to providing exceptional healthcare advice and service to both our local and online communities.

“This new partnership will help us to extend our reach into local communities and we look forward to working on a range of innovative health campaigns through the Club Doncaster Foundation.

Club Doncaster, including Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Rugby League and the Club Doncaster Foundation, prides itself on the mutually beneficial partnerships it forms with key organisations and businesses in Doncaster.

Andrew Whitham, commercial manager, spoke glowingly of the latest link made with Weldricks Pharmacy.

He said: “The underlying ethos of Club Doncaster is about encouraging organisations who care about our area to come together to work more efficiently and effectively for the good of the town.

“Whether it is a commercial relationship formed with our many sponsors or a philanthropic relationship like this one between Weldricks and the Club Doncaster Foundation, we are constantly looking to be innovative in the partnerships we form.

“With a three year partnership ahead of us we looking forward to seeing the benefits that Weldricks Pharmacy and the Club Doncaster Foundation can bring to the area.”
