Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin gives an update.

3 signings confirmed and 4  players out so far, should we expect any more?

It’s been a busy start to the window and we were pleased to be able to extend Enda Stevens loan for a further month and obviously sign Richie Wellens up on a long term deal, plus bringing in Meite, who Paul has been watching for sometime.

The board had made funds available for Paul, on top of those signings and with players leaving the Club that does free up further funds, so there may be more activity, it depends on Paul being able to get the players in that he wants.  I am aware that Paul views the return of some of his long term injured players such as James Husband, Jamie McCombe and Paul Keegan as almost new signings though, and so he is considering all options.

A lot of fans wanted the owners to show their intent during the transfer window, do you feel they have done that?

I can categorically state that the owners intentions are to give enough support to Paul to allow him to ensure the team have the best possible chance of survival. I’m in daily contact with the owners regarding the business Paul is trying to conduct and they are keen that we ensure we have a squad capable of achieving our aims.  It’s well documented that we went beyond our normal parameters to keep Richie Wellens at the Club.

Paul is working tirelessly to try and bring new people into the club to improve the first team, and is literally scouting, on the phone negotiating or training the team 24/7.  He is incredibly enthusiastic and this is infectious on everyone else at the Club.  He If Paul is able to negotiate deals with the players that he wants then I’m sure more business will take place.
