David scored for local rivals Scunthorpe United in their 3-0 win over Rochdale in New years Day.
In Thursday's press conference Brian Horton was asked about the possibility of David coming back to Rovers.
Brian said; "We was discussing Syers the other day and he has scored another good goal yesterday, we will continue to talk because we have got a 24 hour recall clause in Dave's contract.
"When the staff get together today we will be talking about that."
