Team News: Middlesbrough

30 January 2014

Paul Dickov speaks ahead of the Middlesbrough game on Saturday and gives official team news.

"Chris Brown has done well to get through the last few games, he was carrying a little knock but with three goals in his last three games I think he will be fine.

"We finally have some consistency with the team selection. If we go back to the Wigan game when Harry Forrester got injured, there was only one change at Blackpool with Billy Sharp coming in for him, and that consistency is something we haven't had for a long time.

"The boys that are in the team know that they have to perform to a top level to stay there because we have other lads sitting on the bench and training every day who are also wanting to get out on the pitch as well.

"Harry Forrester has gone to see a specialist today and get an injection in his ankle but hopefully it is nothing serious. We all feel a bit sorry for Harry because of the injuries he's been having but we're pretty sure he'll be okay. He showed in the Wigan game what he's capable of and the sort of impact he can have in a game. But we'll get him back and hopefully the team can keep performing.

"Jamie McCombe and Rob Jones are slowly coming back and took part in the game yesterday against Lincoln. Rob's neck and back were okay but he did twist his knee a little bit so we bought him off. We are hopefull he will get 90 minutes against Port Vale next week and then should be ready to go. He has been working hard on his fitness so he just needs to get some match time under his belt.

"Jamie McCombe is taking his time at the moment. We're not putting too much pressure on him. The fracture in his back has healed but he still has hamstring pain that he has had for the last 18 months.

That's it really, apart from a couple of knocks here and there everyone is fine and ready to go."
