Business Cup is Back

9 July 2014

Annual fixture between Team Rogers and Team Plant set for Keepmoat bonanza.

With England out of the World Cup and Andy Murray out of Wimbledon, there is only one big sporting event left this summer for the people of Doncaster; The Crown Hotel, Bawtry Business Cup!

The Keepmoat Stadium is set to stage the annual Doncaster Business Cup, a charity football match played between Team Plant – managed by David Plant of Moirae Creative Agency – and Team Rogers – managed by Gary Rogers of RH Recruiting.

The event sees two teams go head to head with local business owners each paying £250 to play on the hallowed turf. This year the match aims to raise £10,000 for local cancer charity ‘Firefly’ which is being played in memory of Denise Dunn, the Firefly founder who recently lost her own battle with cancer.

David Plant, the founder of the event said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s event, I was deeply saddened when “Dee Dee” passed away earlier this year and would be delighted if we can raise as much money as possible in her honour.”

This will be the games 4th year running and we hope it will continue for many years to come. The match will be played on 19th July with a 3pm kick off at the Keepmoat Stadium, and as many people as possible are invited to attend.

Tickets are priced from just £3. Please see www.doncasterbusinesscup.co.uk for more information.
