Construction of new classrooms at the Keepmoat Stadium continues at a good pace.
In collaboration with XP School, Principle Contractors Create LTD and partners, Doncaster Rovers Community Sports and Education Foundation’s building work in the South East corner of the Keepmoat Stadium is advancing and ahead of schedule.
The build will see the construction of state of the art classrooms, computer suites, flexible learning spaces and offices within the stadium which will cater for 120 students and over 20 teaching and office staff.
XP School, Doncaster’s new free school will be using the site as temporary accommodation, before becoming the full time home of the Foundation from September 2015.
Chief executive of the Foundation Liam Scully said: “Our aim is to be the best Community Club in the country but we are currently at our ceiling due to facility constraints, we simply can’t work or engage with any more people than we currently do based on our facilities, so the only way to grow further was by developing a new, bigger Community Hub at the Keepmoat Stadium.”
“This development will give us the scope to grow, but what has been most pleasing is the support we have been given by local groups and organisations. The management group from XP have been fantastic throughout and although the build works well for us both in providing temporary accommodation for their needs and long term facilities for our requirements.
“In addition this has happened very quickly and with limited resources. There has been a great deal of people involved in making this happen and I can’t thank them enough for their support and dedication to the project. I can’t name them all but must mention our architect, Anthony Snowden, Principle Contractor and fit out team Create LTD, Peter Fowler Electrical, Hanicks, B2 Contract Solutions Ltd and AM Safety Services Ltd. They have all been phenomenal in their support.
