Gavin Baldwin and Paul Dickov

Following yesterday’s board meeting, Doncaster Rovers Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin and Paul Dickov have confirmed the boards desire for success at Doncaster Rovers.

Speaking exclusively to the Doncaster Rovers official website both men summarised yesterdays meeting Chief Executive, Gavin Baldwin said:

“In yesterday’s board meeting the owners confirmed their desire to remain in control of Doncaster Rovers for the long term.

"As part of the meeting the owners set out the objectives they want to achieve whilst at Doncaster Rovers, which includes developing the structure of the club to allow a return to the Championship.

"The owners have set out a wish to end the process of rebuilding the team on an annual basis and have challenged Paul and I with the task of building a younger squad supported by more experienced professionals to support their development, the squad must be capable of providing success for Doncaster Rovers not just in one season, but over a number of years.

"The budget provided will allow for a balance of bringing in some new faces to bolster the squad, whilst maintaining the core structure of the team and developing our own talent through the youth system.”

Paul Dickov added:

“The owners were appreciative of the difficult task of building a team in the short amount of time we have left before the season starts given the delays we have already experienced.

"Their expectations match those of all Doncaster Rovers supporters and that is to see the team successful in both the short and long term.

"They have set out an aim to focus on building a young squad that can achieve success over a number of seasons, not just one.  Whilst this won’t be an easy task it’s a challenge that I’m looking forward to and I’m sure we can provide the success Doncaster Rovers fans deserve.”
