Kyle Keen to Impress

Winner wants a return to winning ways.

Kyle Bennett has stated his desire to make an impact on Doncaster Rovers’ fortunes next term.

The flying winger helped lift Rovers to the Championship during the 12/13 season, however saw his chances in the second tier limited last season.

“I’ve been out on loan last season which was tough,” said Bennett.

“I wanted to be back playing but that wasn’t the case but its good to be back with the lads and the gaffer who's given me a chance.”

Having spent time on loan at League 1 Bradford City, Bennett is now back with the squad in the build up to the start of the season and has spent the last few days in the heat and humidity of Portugal.

“It’s tough because of the heat but were getting up to speed, its been a hard few days out here - and the week before - but we all need it going in to the new season,” he revealed.

“It’s difficult, you’ve got the heat and considering the sessions we’ve done for pre season its hard and it hurts, so it’s tough but you’ve got to deal with it.”

Rovers succumbed to a James Vaughan hat-trick on Tuesday as they 3-1 lost to Huddersfield Town but Bennett was philosophical in his assessment, “It’s all about fitness at the end of the day and when we get that, that’s when the quality comes in.”
