Gaffer cool despite defeat in the heat.
Despite losing 3-1 to Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town during their pre-season camp, Rovers manager Paul Dickov was in a relaxed mood.
“Physically and mentally the players have been tested and to get a positive response was the most pleasing aspect,” said Dickov.
“If thought first half we had a more senior team out and that showed and with the likes of Copps, Wellens, Keegan and Clarke out there we looked strong and good.
“Yes we've lost a couple of goals at the end but we’ve ended up with a young team out there and it will be a fantastic experience for them.
“It’s difficult in the heat, Huddersfield have used 24 players and rotated them and maybe that told in the end.
A hat-trick from former Everton striker James Vaughan was enough to see off Rovers, despite Richie Wellens opening the scoring.
After the weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Lincoln City, Rovers will stay out in Portugal until the weekend before returning to play Grimsby Town at Blundell Park on Tuesday 22nd July 2014 (7pm).
