The Hard Work Starts Now - Tyson

29 July 2014

New signing looking to get off to flying start for his new club.

Nathan Tyson spoke exclusively to www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk after signing for the Club on an initial one year contract, with the Club retaining the option of extending the contract by a further year.

The 32 year old front man brings an abundance of pace to the fore and has bolstered Paul Dickov’s attacking options.

Tyson, who has been training with the club throughout pre-season, said, “Suddenly something popped up as fantastic as this and it’s worked out really well so far.

“I’ve still got to go out there and impress. I’ve got the contract, that’s the easy part done. The hard part is for the rest of the year putting the performances in and getting the results and the goals and points to help us move up the league.”

The former Reading, Wycombe, Nottingham Forest and Derby striker has scored close to 100 goals throughout his professional career and said that not only is he looking to add to that tally, but help the stars of the future progress.

“The young lads now have to turn to men and the older lads – like me – have to pass that down to the young lads,” he said.

“If you work as a team, do the basics right then you can find yourself in a good position in the league.

“There are a couple of rumours going around the changing room; hopefully there’ll be a couple of new faces. It’s a great opportunity for the younger players who might be thinking about getting a foot in the door. There are bad sides to the situation but there’s also plus sides and hopefully I can be part of that through the season.”
