Fixture Release Yields Yeovil Opener

18 June 2014

First up, the furthest trip.

Doncaster Rovers will kick off their League 1 campaign next term with a trip to Yeovil Town (9th August) before their first home game of the season a week later against Port Vale.

The journey to Yeovil – Rovers’ furthest – sees Paul Dickov’s side cross swords with the Glovers yet again after both sides were relegated from the Sky Bet Championship last term.

Dickov will face former employers Oldham Athletic as early as August, when Rovers host the Latics prior to a return at Boundary Park in January.

The local derbies come thick and fast for Rovers between September and November when they meet Barnsley (A), Chesterfield (H), Scunthorpe (A), Bradford (A) and Sheffield United (H) within the space of a couple of months.

Boxing day brings a home fixture against former Premier League side Coventry City, before three of the final seven games of the season are yet more derby clashes against Bradford (H), Sheffield United (A) and a final day showdown at the Keepmoat against Scunthorpe United.
