John Ryan expressed his excitement about the future of Doncaster Rovers and teaming up with new partner Louis Tomlinson.

Following yesterday's announcement that John Ryan has teamed up with Louis Tomlinson, arguably one of the most recognisable popstar’s in the world, the pair have voiced their delight in being given the opportunity to be involved with the club.

“I am delighted and terribly excited,” Ryan said.

“To bring someone like Louis on board is almost like signing a top player.

“He can bring so much to the club in enthusiasm and endeavour.”

Tomlinson has gone from being a waiter at the Keepmoat Stadium, to global superstar to now owning the club he supported as a boy.

“It’s unbelievable and obviously an absolute honour,” he added.

“I’m such a big Doncaster Rovers fan, and to be involved with John who is so experienced and loved in the town is great.

"We're very ambitious, very enthusiastic and we're going to do the very best we can."

The pair will become equal partners and co chairmen after taking control of the club. Yesterday also saw the announcement of the Tomlinson Ryan Trust, a crowd funding project with the aim of raising £2million from donations to support the club.

Ryan added, “By setting up this trust and putting our own money in, we are making it clear to Doncaster Rovers supports and the public that we are planning to give the club the support and resources it needs.”
