To celebrate the loyal fans of Doncaster Rovers, two lucky Golden Ticket winners have bought season tickets for the unbelievable price of £18.79.
Supporters Terrence Bath and Elliott Mounfield secured the knockdown price after being drawn from a list of Rovers fans who purchased a season ticket in February for the 2014/15 campaign.Rovers, which were formed in 1879, developed the price offer as part of a package of prizes available to fans who buy a season ticket before the March 31 early bird deadline.
Elliott is a school student from Bury who is an avid supporter of Doncaster Rovers, having a passion for football his entire life. Elliott was overjoyed when he found out the news of the win.
Elliott’s Grandfather said: “He started coming to Rovers games with me when he was around three-years-old. He watches Manchester City games with his other Grandad but this season ticket will offer him more of a chance to see games at the Keepmoat stadium.”
Terrence Bath, who has supported Doncaster Rovers since the 1940s, said “It was fantastic when I heard that I had won. No other words for it. I feel really lucky considering I never even get three numbers on the lottery!
“I used to play a lot of football myself and so could only really go to evening games. Now I have a lot more free time and will be looking forward to seeing them play regularly.”
Shaun Lockwood, head of communications for Doncaster Rovers, said: “The fans are so important to the longevity and success of a club. This is a great way to reward loyal supporters by being able to give something extra back.”
Lots of prizes have been given to season ticket holders as a reward for continual support for the club ranging from tickets, training sessions, home and away shirts and visits from Doncaster Rovers players.
