Two young Rovers fans secure dream training session with Rovers manager Paul Dickov as part of a ‘golden ticket’ incentive set up by the club to reward fans buying their 2014/15 season tickets.
Five-year-old Beau Dickerson, who lives in Haxey, and eleven year old Owen Collins have both won a training session for them and up to 14 of their friends, as well as a home and away shirt each for the 2014/15 season.
Beau, Owen and their friends will be able to follow in the footsteps of their football idols when they are put to the test at the Keepmoat Stadium to take part in a training session with Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov.
Beau’s mum, Debbie, said: “His dad and his older sisters are big Rovers fans and Beau has just started getting really interested in the team so this prize couldn’t be better timed.
“He has been to a few matches recently including the Louis Tomlinson from One Direction game and has also started playing football in his after-school club.
“Beau is really excited about winning and his dad can’t wait to take him to more matches. He’s really pleased with his shirt, too.”
Owen Collins, from Scawthorpe, is just as happy with his prize.
Grandmother Maureen Sidwell said: “It’s brilliant. He goes to all the home matches with his granddad so it’s a bit of a family tradition.
“He’d wanted a shirt for a while so it was a lovely surprise for him to win.”
Shaun Lockwood, head of communications for Doncaster Rovers, said: “This is a great way to give something back to the club’s young fans and help continue to nurture their love of and support for the Rovers.
“We know it also means a lot to the young fans to spend time with manager Paul Dickov – we expect their skills to improve no end after he has put them through their paces on the pitch!”
Further exciting prizes will be available throughout March, while all those who purchased season tickets in February will be automatically included into March draws.
