Paul Dickov has told us that he is on the look out for a possible loanee defender following the injury to Bongani Khumalo last week.
Khumalo was injured whilst on international duty with South Africa and had to be stretchered off during his side’s defeat to Brazil.
Dickov said: “I spoke to Bongani on Friday night after his operation and it’s just going to be a long period of recovery for him now.
“Away from him being a top professional, he’s a great lad as well.
“I know the boys want to keep in touch with him and we all wish him a speedy recovery.”
In terms of cover for the injured Khumalo, Dickov is looking at the possibility of bringing someone in to fill the gap in the squad.
“Paul Quinn came in and did really well and he’s shown this season that he can cover in there.
“I’m looking at possibly a centre half who can cover at full back or vice versa.
“We’ve made a few phone calls over the weekend and have left some messages this morning so it’s just a case of waiting for people to get back to us.
“It looks unlikely that anything will be done for tomorrow but anything could happen between now and tomorrow; it’s hard to put a time limit on these things.”
