Rovers hit 1,000 season ticket mark as fan Marie wins Sharp shirt

Doncaster Rovers have passed the 1,000-mark in season ticket sales with one lucky fan securing a unique prize in the process.

Marie Coates, 75, of Old Cantley in Doncaster was one of those 1,000 supporters to buy a season ticket for the 2014/15 campaign and was picked out of the hat to win a Rovers shirt signed by striker Billy Sharp.

She said: “It’s fantastic. It was bit of a surprise, but nonetheless a nice one! Billy has always been a good favourite and it’s nice to have him back here.”

Marie is an existing season ticket holder in the East Stand at the Keepmoat Stadium and has followed Rovers closely for the last eight years.

Marie added: “My husband has been a Rovers fans since childhood and he’s 80 now, but it’s only in recent years when I’ve started to come to games with him. I think I’m a bigger fan than he is now! We enjoy coming to games and even try to get to some of the away matches where we can.”

Rovers are giving away unique prizes once the club reaches specific season ticket sales milestones. The next prize winner will be announced once 1,500 tickets have been bought, with a training ground experience for four people up for grabs.

Fans have until March 31 to purchase a 2014/15 season ticket before the early bird discount deadline. Existing season ticket holders can save up to £35 in categories A and B, compared to new season ticket holders.

Due to popular demand, there are a limited number of season tickets remaining at just £299 for adults and £219 for concessions in category C seating only.

Rovers have also reduced child season tickets for all areas of the Keepmoat Stadium next season. Supporters aged 11 and under can secure a seat for just £30, while those aged 12 to 16 can have a season ticket for just £70, a reduction of up to 25 per cent. Under 8’s continue to go free within the family area if accompanied by a paying adult or senior.

With the new direct debit scheme, Doncaster Rovers have made it even easier to secure a seat for the new season with a £50 deposit prior to the early bird deadline (31 March) with a three or six month term available. A £20 admin fee applicable, terms and conditions apply.

Rovers Alliance Members are entitled to a five per cent discount on their 2014/15 season ticket if they have been member for at least three months.
