Huge Thank you to Fans

26 March 2014

Last Saturday’s match against Sheffield Wednesday turned out to be not only a great win for the Rovers, but also a big win for the Football League’s Official Charity Partner – Prostate Cancer UK.

The club was delighted to be able to host representatives of the Prostate Cancer UK fundraising team at the Keepmoat Stadium. In addition to highlighting the awareness of this condition which affects 40,000 males each year in the UK, the fundraising team received a massive donation of £1,131.51 via collecting buckets from Rovers ‘ and Owls fans together.

The ‘Men United v Prostate Cancer’ campaign is being supported by all football clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two during the current season.

Mark Bishop ( Prostate Cancer UK’s Director of Fundraising): “We’ve been blown away by the positivity of our Men United campaign throughout the Football League, and should like to express our thanks to all Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday fans for their extremely generous donations at Saturday’s match. By supporting the Men United campaign fans become part of a movement for men’s health where we are all fighting on the same team against common opposition. The more fans who sign up for Men United the bigger the difference we will make”.
