Rob Jones Update

24 March 2014

Rob Jones had his operation last week and we get a update on his condition

Manager Paul Dickov confirmed today that Rob Jones had his neck operation last Monday and that it had gone well but it will be around six weeks before he can start his rehab.

“We now have to let him rest it and keep assessing him. It will be six weeks before he can even think about training as he has been advised to rest and allow the healing process to do its job”

Rob Jones “Hopefully this operation will have gone to plan and the recovery process starts with the focus on getting fit for next season. The operation itself was a single level fusion of the spine. This means the problem disc was removed and replaced with a cage filled with bone graft then the vertebrae of c5 and c6 were fused and screwed together with a metal plate. With any luck I will be jogging within 4-6 weeks and after that I start the slow progress of building all the muscles up around the neck so I can return to training. A very busy summer is ahead of me in rehab ready for the new season, which I can't wait for.”

“I’m currently on a liquid diet which does not sit well with me but hopefully I will be pain free this week, so can get back to real food. I will have to rest quite a bity over the next few weeks to allow it to heal”
