Rovers Charity Partner – Home-Start!

Home-Start Doncaster is a charity which offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children in the Doncaster area.

The charity offers a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers (who are usually parents themselves) to visit families with at least one child aged under 5, and assist with informal, friendly and confidential support.

Home-Start is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its work in Doncaster, and enjoys the patronage of the Rt. Hon. Rosie Winterton MP (pictured with Gavin Baldwin of Doncaster Rovers, along with Home-Start Scheme Manager Julie Cade, and Trustee Volunteers).

Gavin Baldwin: “Doncaster Rovers Football Club is delighted to be able to help raise awareness of the work of this fantastic charity within our local community. I cannot over-emphasise the value of the work with local families which Home-Start provides. I should like to encourage our supporters to actively engage with Home-Start via its website www.home-start.org.uk in support of its wonderful work carried out throughout our local community.”

Volunteers from Home-Start will maintain a presence at Rovers matches in the concourses during the year 2014 providing further information about its work in the Doncaster area.

Could you spare a few hours per week to become a volunteer for Home-Start? If so, contact the local headquarters by telephone 01302 340856, or visit the website to obtain further details.
