Two Rovers fans have stuck gold after winning a golden ticket entitling them to a five-year season ticket courtesy of Doncaster Rovers.
Ben Schofield was ‘amazed’ to be one of two winners of a 5 year season ticket, worth £2000*.Upon collecting the prize, Ben said: "I could not believe it when the ticket office contacted me to say I had won. I assumed the season ticket was for one year, but when I found out it was for five I was amazed!"
A lifelong Rovers fan, 35 year-old Ben has always had a season ticket, supporting the club through good times and bad.
"Through thick and thin, I always buy a season ticket. I have seen some bad times but also many great ones over the last ten years. I think it is a good way of showing your commitment to the club you support.
“The semifinal against Chester was a thrilling and nervous time, but nothing compares with getting our League status back after years in the Conference. That was a magical day at Stoke with such a fantastic following. Having my season ticket meant I ensured I got a ticket for the game, as well as the matches at Cardiff and Wembley.
“I am sure my season ticket will bring more memories for me as we continue to move forward.”
Eighteen-year-old Brett Mills is the second lucky winner. He has been attending matches since he was a child with his super-fan dad Sheldon – who is now planning to get a season ticket of his own to join his son at games.
“It felt like I had won the lottery! I have had a season ticket for 9 years and now I get to have one for another 5 years. I buy one because it’s all about supporting the club you love”
The prizes are part of a package set up to reward fans buying season tickets. Each person that wins will receive a golden ticket detailing their prize.
Shaun Lockwood, head of communications for Doncaster Rovers, said: “This is a great way to reward loyal fans who are buying season tickets and for the club to give something extra back.”
Further exciting prizes will be available throughout March, while all those who purchased in February will be automatically included into March draws.
